Model European Union (MEU) Berlin 2025

  1. General Information
    1. MEU Berlin 2025 is a simulation of the legislative process of the European Union, organized from 22 to 26 April 2025 in Berlin, Germany.
    2. These Terms and Conditions govern the participation of all attendees, including delegates, chairs, organizers, and volunteers, at MEU Berlin.
    3. By registering for MEU Berlin, participants acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Eligibility and Registration
    1. Participation is open to individuals aged 18 to 30 years old at the time of the event.
    2. Participants must complete the application process, including submitting required documents and paying the participation fee by the stated deadlines.
    3. MEU Berlin reserves the right to reject applications without providing specific reasons.
    4. Selected participants must confirm their attendance within the specified time to secure their place.
  3. Fees & Payment
    1. The participation fee is:
      • €180 (with accommodation included).
      • €140 (without accommodation).
    2. These fees cover:
      • Accommodation (where applicable).
      • Lunch, breakfast, and coffee breaks during the event.
      • Event materials and access to simulation sessions.
      • Attendance at some social events.
    3. Participants will be informed at least 4 weeks prior to the event about any social activities or events not included in the participation fee, along with their respective costs.
    4. Payments must be made via bank transfer to the organization’s bank account, which will be provided to accepted applicants. Payments must be completed within 7 days of receiving the acceptance email.
    5. Participation fees are non-refundable for cancellations made less than 6 weeks prior to the event or at any time after this period.
  4. Obligation to Attend
    1. Participants are required to attend all sessions, events, and activities scheduled for their role during the simulation.
    2. Failure to attend mandatory sessions without prior approval from the organizers will result in disqualification from receiving a certificate of participation.
    3. Certificates will only be endorsed by the MEU Berlin for participants who fully comply with attendance requirements.
  5. Code of Conduct
    1. All participants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally toward one another and adhere to the event’s rules and schedule.
    2. Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
    3. MEU Berlin reserves the right to remove participants violating the Code of Conduct without reimbursement of fees.
  6. Event participation
    1. Participants must prepare for the conference by reviewing materials and position papers provided by MEU Berlin.
    2. Delegates are expected to actively engage in debates, discussions, and voting sessions as outlined in the event agenda.
    3. Photography and videography will take place during the event. By participating, attendees grant MEU Berlin the right to use these materials for promotional purposes.
  7. Liability
    1. MEU Berlin is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss sustained during the event unless caused by gross negligence on the part of the organizers.
    2. Participants are responsible for securing travel insurance, health coverage, and any required visas.
  8. Data protection
    1. MEU Berlin processes personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
    2. By registering, participants consent to the collection, storage, and use of their data for organizational purposes, including communication, accreditation, and event logistics.
  9. Cancellation and Force Majeure
    1. Participants wishing to cancel their attendance must notify the organizers no later than 6 weeks before the event to receive a refund. Cancellations made after this period will not be refunded.
    2. MEU Berlin reserves the right to cancel or modify the event schedule due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, or government restrictions.
    3. In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified promptly and provided with information regarding refunds or rescheduling.
  10. Intellectual Property
    1. All materials provided by MEU Berlin, including documents, logos, and content, are the intellectual property of the organization and cannot be reproduced or distributed without prior consent.
  11. Final Provisions
    1. MEU Berlin reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. Updates will be communicated to participants in a timely manner.
    2. Any disputes arising under these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of Germany.
